Privacy Policy

Effective

The short version: Songstorm doesn’t collect anything about you. Your recordings, lyrics and songs live on your devices and in your own iCloud account. Hendeca Labs can’t see them, and there are no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking.

What Songstorm stores, and where

Everything you make in Songstorm stays on your device: voice memos, their transcripts, lyrics, chords, song versions, tags and the custom properties you create. If you’re signed in to iCloud, Songstorm syncs it to your other devices through Apple’s CloudKit, in the private database of your iCloud account. Apple stores it under the Apple Privacy Policy, and only you can read it. Hendeca Labs has no access to it.

Your settings (theme, fonts, appearance and recording presets) are stored on the device only.

Microphone and speech recognition

Songstorm asks for the microphone so it can record your ideas, and for speech recognition so it can transcribe the words in them. It only listens while you’re recording.

Transcription runs on your device whenever your device and language support it. When they don’t, which can happen on systems older than iOS 26 and macOS 26, Apple’s speech recognition service transcribes the recording instead, under Apple’s privacy policy. Hendeca Labs never receives the audio or the transcript.

Tips

The optional tip jar uses Apple’s In-App Purchase. Apple handles the payment; Hendeca Labs never sees your name, payment details or Apple Account.

What Songstorm doesn’t do

  • No accounts or sign-in of its own.
  • No analytics, crash reporting or advertising SDKs.
  • No tracking across apps or websites, and no selling or sharing of data.
  • No servers of ours that your songs pass through.

Deleting your data

Deleting a memo or song in Songstorm deletes it from every device synced through your iCloud. To remove everything, delete the app from each device, then turn off and delete Songstorm’s data in Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Account Storage on iPhone or iPad, or System Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage on a Mac.

Children

Songstorm doesn’t collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If Songstorm ever starts sending anything off your device to a service of ours, for example an optional AI feature, this policy will say so before that version ships, and the feature will tell you in the app first. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
